Brief Biography

ABOUT 

Phil trained at East15 Acting School and is an actor, comedian and writer. His work has been featured on BBC TV (BBC2, BBC3), BBC Radio (Radio 1, Radio 4, Radio 4 Extra) and written about in The Guardian, The New York Times and The Scotsman; and featured as a comedian in Zoo Magazine, Playboy Online and BuzzFeed.

AWARDS 

Winner of Sunday Times awards for writing (as himself) and theatrical innovation (As If A Rag); ThreeWeeks award for Best at Edinburgh Fringe (Inconsiderate Aberrations of Billy the Kid); VAULT Festival Festgoers Award for Best Show (BattleActs), and, two StageWon Awards for Best at Edinburgh Fringe (Back to School and BattleActs). Phil came second place in the Critic's Choice​ awards at the Atlanta Fringe in 2019.

Phil's solo shows include Cyberpunk's Not Dead, Full Mind, Not Funny Haha, Hydrophobia and Nothingism. Phil regularly appears with the Monkey Toast Players and BattleActs.

THEATRE includes Uncommon Nonsense (Royal Court), Motivate and Accelerate (BAC), Blast Off (Soho Theatre) and How To Waste Money On Mere Happiness (New Diorama); 

TV AND FILM includes feature film Night Bus and The Javone Prince Show (BBC2). 

COMEDY includes appearances at the Comedy Store, Manchester, the Camden Roundhouse and Secret Garden Party.

SUCCESSES include sell-out shows at the Edinburgh Festival for solo works and ensemble shows; a BBC podcast; national and international touring of comedy and theatre; national and international television work.

Outside of performance, in the business and corporate world, Phil is a successful copywriter, editor, social media manager and producer. Producer of the International Student Playscript Competition, Artistic Director of BattleActs, and writer for numerous industries and companies including in technical, entertainment, journalistic and copywriting for both B2B and B2C audiences.
